Come Walk with Me by Cannie J McNamara Come Walk with Me by Cannie J McNamara May 15, 2012 $4.99 11050 words Sample 15%
The beginning of a journey through the mind of a brain injured person. Struggling with the inability to communicate, words began to flow through my mind in verse. I put pen to paper to express my feelings of frustration, humor, love, joy, sorrow and despair. This, the first book of the Come Walk with Me series, is the beginning of that journey. Maybe you'll see my journey reflected in you.
Author bio:
In 2002, Cannie was changed due to brain trauma. Believing, always, she would resume her life as a journeyman electrician, she underwent multiple therapies. Ten months later she was made aware her life would never be the same again. She was told more than once through the years to accept her limitations and give up the fight to become more. To this day she continues to push the envelope of life. She has written and illustrated many children's books inspired by her grandchildren and friends. She has also complied three books that are collections of her brand of poetry and writings giving an insight into her head trauma. Encouraged by others to share these works, she is striving to finish the final details of these books so they will also be made available to the public. Everything she has written has rolled around in her head until she realized it was never going away. The only way to let it free from her thoughts were to write it down. One message she would like to convey to the universe is: Brain trauma does not make people less intelligent. We process information with a greater challenge. Our intelligence does not diminish due to our trauma. We, many times, are forced to find new ways to employ this intelligence. To make it work in our behalf. We may forget, not understand clearly, or be trapped in our own minds and struggle to communicate with others. Depending on how far we push our brains at any given time can determine how intelligent we may appear to others. However, if you take the time to know us, you will see we are very much like you. We have dreams, insights, aspirations and fears like everyone else.

There is no better Deliverance from the world, than through POETRY and PROSE. Travel along on that journey with author Shana Jay as she searches within herself with her latest release A Piece of My Heart: The Unedited Truth. It's sure to bring you out of the dark
Author bio:
Shana Jay (born Shana Bibbs Hampton) is an only child born to Antonio C. Bibbs and Jennifer M. Bibbs Kilgore in Memphis, TN. What began as personal journal entries soon evolved into poetry as she allowed her more creative side to chronicle the events that took place in her life. Her debut book A Piece of My Heart was a pure and honest revelation of the woman that resides within. Now with her sophomore collection, A Piece of My Heart: The Unedited Truth, Shana has revealed another layer of her soul. Shana has known love, joy, heartache, pain and triumph. According to her, she wrote her first two books to let others know that they are not alone. “ Writing, for me, became a release that helped me to peel away layers of my soul that I want to share with my readers.” Shana’s writings don’t fit within traditional confines of poetic prose. Many of her poems read like a letter to a dear friend, a lover, or herself. Others read like a short eloquent essay enticing the reader to creative and intellectual thought. Yet, all of them showcase her emotions with a realism that only comes when the writer unashamedly bares their soul. As readers turn the pages of her life, they develop a telepathic bond with Shana--viewing her thoughts and savoring each one. Shana’s poetic audio recordings have also achieved widespread recognition. Her album Life Speaks, consists of 10 pieces that she reads against a background of smooth Jazz music. Just like her written words, the audio will take you on a literary roller coaster with her life-experiences & expressions of Love, Anger, Betrayal & Exhalted Completion Of Freedom.

A lyrical expression of gratitude, this poem is set to a bossa nova rhythm.
Author bio:
Corporate robot by day, lucid dreamer by night, Chantale Reve lives to express her thoughts on the human condition through erotic short fiction (especially erotic mystery and suspense stories) and poetry. She is inspired by and enjoys the creations of other artists – from novelists and poets, to dancers, musicians, visual artists and chefs. She also is profoundly influenced by certain existentialist schools of thought; by the literature of William Shakespeare, Anaϊs Nin, Henry Miller, Alice Walker, Philip K. Dick, Richard Burton Matheson, James Patterson, John Le Carré, Ian Fleming, among others; and by the cinematic genius of Hitchcock, Chabrol, Truffaut, Fellini and Almodóvar. Chantale’s worldview continues to be shaped by her travels and by the images and messages in remarkable independent, modern and postmodern films from around the world.

Systole by Corrine Ann Delvecchio Systole by Corrine Ann Delvecchio Aug. 20, 2010 $1.99 3726 words Sample 20%
Systole is the contraction of your heart that pushes your blood through your veins. "Systole" describes that contraction with rhythm, rhyme and reason. "Systole" is relationships in poetry. "Systole" is modern poetry, sometimes sophisticated and sometimes simple. "Systole" is twenty-three, 21st century poems that reveal relationships with honesty and truth... Perhaps an edgy truth.
Author bio:
Corrine Ann Delvecchio was born in the Motor City on the day the sun left Ophiuchus and entered Sagittarius. Her mother, Teresa, emigrated with family from northern Italy to northern Ontario, Canada when she was just a young girl. Corrine’s father, Alex, is a retired center for the Detroit Red Wings and member of the Hockey Hall of Fame. As a part of that thin band between the Boomers and the Gen Xers, Corrine experiences life between narcissism and altruism, between fear and faith, between you and me, and reasons with words. As a young child, she would ‘talk her sister’s ear off’ evaluating the day’s activities, considering and interpreting before going to sleep. She secretly started writing lyrics and verse as a pre-teen, and in High School, she actually attended her poetry class. Her best recollection is that she did receive an A. ;-) As a young adult, Corrine sold advertising specialties and promotional items for her father’s company. She was married twice and blessed with a son from her first, and returned to school during her second. She holds a Bachelors degree in Business Administration, and until recently, worked for many years in the Automotive Industry, and admits to being a bit of a car-freak. Corrine has a philosophical mind, a poetic heart and a modern-day life. She has an insatiable quest for the Truth, is an avid reader and relishes the time spent studying metaphysics, walking and writing. “Systole,” written at the very beginning of this millennium, is her first collection of poems to be published. Corrine is starting a new life in a new state, and continues to write new poetry.
