Dogs Forever by Great Minds Think Aloud Literary Community May 17, 2012 $2.99 1549 words Sample 5%
Author bio:
Great Minds Think Aloud started as a conversation and became something much larger. In March of 2011 we started Great Minds as a book club that was originally designed just for women. Over the course of that month it quickly evolved into a place for everyone. Great Minds is now a hub for not only readers, but authors, publishers, publicists, artists and anyone that has interests in the literary world. Great Minds has an established presence on virtually every social networking site on the internet. They have their own Facebook pages that include the initial friend page, group page, and like page. To find them all you have to do is type in Great Minds Think Aloud on Google and they are the first thing you see. Membership has been growing rapidly over the past few months, they now boast over 1000 members on Facebook and over 200 on the forum not including the followers of their blog as well as the numerous other sites they are associated with. Their main website can be found at: http://www.greatmindsliterarycommunity.com and was established late last month, already there have been close to 2000 hits. Their work includes doing PR for numerous publicity firms, publishers, and authors. They also do reviews on books that are posted on every site where they have established a web presence, and they hold monthly contests and exclusive interviews to heighten the knowledge of the many talented Indie Authors out there today. Great Minds Think Aloud now offers publishing services, advertising services, and company merchandise. All of this information can be found on their site: http://www.greatmindsliterarycommunity.com. One of the largest draws at this point are the themed e-book giveaways they have begun starting Halloween of 2011. Each holiday through Easter they will host a new event where lots of different authors offer a donated e-book to create packages for the lucky winners. Their reviews have become some of the most followed reviews on the web, and their process is one formulated to be honest, precise, and intellectual. They review all genres and have what they call the "Raven" system set up to rate the books they receive. Being a long time fan of Edgar Allan Poe, Kitty Bullard the creator of Great Minds, chose the Raven to be an integral symbol of the literary community. Interviews with authors are always done on a personal basis by researching the author and their works before forming questions that are for them alone. At the bottom of the home page on their website you can find all the various hubs where reviews, interviews, blog stop posts and any other correspondence with authors, publishers, and publicists are found. Great Minds also prides themselves on their versatility, as they have made a point to work with well-known publishing agencies as well as Indie publishers which they take a special interest in. Voices from the Heart by William Power May 15, 2012 $2.99 14450 words Sample 20%
Author bio:
Born in Columbus Ohio in 1966, William grew up in the suburbs of Cleveland, Ohio. William`s family eventually moved to North Georgia in 1979. William grew up in rural North Georgia and never finished high school. He came from a poor family and a fatherless home. William struggled with alcoholism and drug abuse at an early age until he found a new way of life in 1988. Married in 1989, he was blessed with three children by his first wife and now is a proud grandfather as well. William had always dreamed of becoming a writer and a published author; however, life, business, and children took his life in a different direction. William owned and operated several successful businesses throughout his adult life and was a self-made man. He also spent 15 years training as a Martial Artist and was a certified instructor. He retired from his career in Martial Arts in 2008. In early 2008, his business ventures began to fail under the weight of the falling economy; he decided to pursue his dream of writing and went back to college to earn his degree in English. In 2010 he began to write his first book “Apples of Gold: A collection of inspirational short stories and poems,” published in August of 2011. William decided to give this work away to readers in the form of a free eBook to allow his readers to get to know him and enjoy his work. The book has remained in the top 10 highest rated poetry books on smashwords.com for over 6 months to date thanks to his readers. Currently William is working on his second book, “Voices of the Heart,” which should hit virtual book shelves by the summer of 2012. He also maintains a literary blog, “Two Drops of Ink,” where he enjoys interaction with others who love the world of literature at all levels. His future goals include a fiction novel which he is currently writing (in the mystery-thriller genre). Thank you for your interest in his work. "I have always hoped to touch the lives of others through the written word. I thank each and every individual who has taken the time to read my poetry and prose. I write from the heart and touch on subjects that are not always pleasant, but, all of us have a level of neurosis I suppose, often times, these are the ties that bind us—I love to speak the language of the human heart." Come Walk with Me by Cannie J McNamara May 15, 2012 $4.99 11050 words Sample 15%
Author bio:
In 2002, Cannie was changed due to brain trauma. Believing, always, she would resume her life as a journeyman electrician, she underwent multiple therapies. Ten months later she was made aware her life would never be the same again. She was told more than once through the years to accept her limitations and give up the fight to become more. To this day she continues to push the envelope of life. She has written and illustrated many children's books inspired by her grandchildren and friends. She has also complied three books that are collections of her brand of poetry and writings giving an insight into her head trauma. Encouraged by others to share these works, she is striving to finish the final details of these books so they will also be made available to the public. Everything she has written has rolled around in her head until she realized it was never going away. The only way to let it free from her thoughts were to write it down. One message she would like to convey to the universe is: Brain trauma does not make people less intelligent. We process information with a greater challenge. Our intelligence does not diminish due to our trauma. We, many times, are forced to find new ways to employ this intelligence. To make it work in our behalf. We may forget, not understand clearly, or be trapped in our own minds and struggle to communicate with others. Depending on how far we push our brains at any given time can determine how intelligent we may appear to others. However, if you take the time to know us, you will see we are very much like you. We have dreams, insights, aspirations and fears like everyone else.

Author bio:
I am first and foremost inquisitive, always wanting to know what goes on globally and locally and wanting to understand WHY! Being a newspaper reporter was the career with which I began. Then, as a pianist and vocalist, I spent a number of years entertaining throughout the U.S. I also owned a talent agency during that time. After those 25 years, my next career was in public education, which was something I never intended to do. Getting "drafted" into teaching and time as an Academic Coordinator was very interesting and I do so love the students and teachers, administrators, and staff members I met. I'm very proud of our students. After six years, I left teaching and moved near my son and his family. I became a Master Gardener and Master Composter, joined local organizations, and have been able to enjoy more time with my children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. are grown and I have beautiful grandchildren I am thrilled that my professional focus now is limited to writing. I will be publishing both fiction and non-fiction works and begin that in 2012 with the availability of Cowboy Jesse and the College Girl.

A-Z of Animal Poems by peter cain May 15, 2012 $2.99 3963 words Sample 20%
Author bio:
Captain Peter Cain (born 1954) spent all his childhood years living in a small village called Buxworth which is situated in the hills of the Peak District in North Derbyshire. At the age of 20, he broke away from village life to become a Redcoat Entertainer at the Butlins Holiday Centre in Ayr, Scotland. From there he advanced from being a bingo caller and then manager to sales executive for a cleaning firm before finally owning his own business which he eventually sold. He aimed for a complete 'life change' and went through the process of becoming a professional boat skipper. He sailed around to Portugal and settled in the beautiful tourist locality of Lagos, which is situated in the west of the Algarve. He has worked in the region as a skipper on various tourist boats during the summer seasons since 2000. When he was in his early 30’s, having always shown an interest in writing, he was a whisker away from having some of his work accepted for TV. Until recently his work commitments prevented him from further pursuing his love of writing and poetry, but now has time to return to his favourite pastime. His first book, which has been published through Kindle is called 'Percy the Parrot - and Other Pet Subjects', which is based on the African Grey parrot Peter once owned and also in the book are some of his many other humorous encounters with various creatures ranging from mice to elephants. To add to this, his new book 'A Sign of the Rhymes' which was released on March 1st 2012 contains humorous rhymes, 'Puzzling Poems' and a concept he has named 'Re-versing Rhyme', an interesting take on poetry. Peter has just finished writing a follow up to his first book which is entitled 'Percy the Parrot 2, the bird's perspective''. A light hearted fictional account of events as experienced by 'Percy'. The book is also now available through Kindle publishing. Peter is presently in the process of writing more poetry and rhymes with an illustrated children's 'A-Z of Animal Poems'.
