Postcards From My Mind | by Christopher Setterlund Dec. 17, 2009 | $2.99 | 50671 words | Sample 50% |
| Author bio: My name is Christopher Setterlund and I was born and raised on Cape Cod. Being the oldest of five siblings, and coming from a large family mixed of many different nationalities, I enjoyed hearing the stories my elder relatives would tell. I was a born storyteller from the time I was eight years old and writing tales of adventures that my friends and I would take. As time went on my passion changed to film and producing, even going to college with the intention of becoming a film director. Still, throughout all of my time making my own home movies with my friends it was the stories that I enjoyed creating the most. Nothing is better for me than creating your own world or characters and bringing them to life. After losing interest in directing I spent much of my twenties writing poetry that described my world and emotions surrounding it, it was quite a growing experience to be able to open my heart but also do it in a concise and interesting way. Eventually I wanted to try my hand at taking the chains off of my mind and creating a full-length story complete with many interesting characters and a great plot. Second Coming was that story and since then I have never looked back. My biggest hope for all of you that choose to read my books is that you will be able to lose yourself in the world I create; sights, sounds, and emotions. Much the same as I did with my poetry I do not limit myself in one specific genre of writing; I want my words to reach as many people as possible and realize that different people like different types of stories. I believe that there is something for everyone in my collection, and if there is not keep checking back because I have many more books to come in the coming months and years. Thank you for taking a chance on my books, you will not be disappointed. |

November the First | by Patrisha Reece-Davies Jan. 17, 2010 | Free! | 226 words | Read a sample |
| Author bio: Dr. Patrisha Reece-Davies lives in a cottage in Cambridgeshire, England, with her husband and their cat Rufus. She has been a writer and story teller all of her life. She studied English Law to Ph.D and has added writing student text books to her catalogue of skills. As a poet Patrisha has had several poems published and has won competitions. However, full-length works of fiction and character development remain her favourite writing task and no doubt she will go on to provide more, equally beautifully crafted material for a long time to come. When asked to say who she is Patrisha will sometimes answer "I am an analyst - I love to explore and examine ideas, philosophies, thoughts and knowledge!" Other times she will answer "I am a teacher! I am never more happy than when one of my students suddenly grasps a complex piece of new information, or when I get a message from a graduate telling me that the work we did together has helped them to find the way to change their lives for the better." And again, at other times she will tell you that she is a dreamer, a word-smith, and a free spirit who just loves laughter, stories and chasing her imagination to see where it will lead. Like most writers she loves to read - her choice of books knows no bounds and her bookshelves are stuffed with classic literature, fantasy, ancient history, archeology, Elizabethan and even older texts, as well as serious books about law, psychology, maths, economics and much more. Patrisha is elated when readers comment on her work. About Mullery she has received comments such as: "Great storytelling!" - or - "I love a story that starts in the middle and gets you so involved within the first few pages. This one certainly does that and the words flow with ease. Delightfully different and makes you want to read more!" (Thanks Sue - who ever you are it is a joy to give such pleasure.) Patrisha giggled when she heard about the post mistress who was frequently late for work because she could not put the book down, and was beside herself with pride when a lawyer from South Wales said that she was so wrapped up in Mullery and liked him so much that she actually felt jealous of the character Samum who has become Mullery's lost love. By her own admission Patrisha does not seek fame and fortune - she just loves to write and she is glad when others get pleasure from reading her work. So, enjoy . . . oh, and please leave your comments for other readers to share too. |

Definitions: Poetry that defines love, life and beyond | by Timothy House Jan. 17, 2010 | $2.99 | 9379 words | Sample 40% |
| Author bio: Ohio native Timothy House first began writing poetry as a teenager. As many poets, he began writing poetry to his girlfriend. He quickly found other topics to write about as well with a dream of someday writing a book. That dream became a reality in 2007 when he published Definitions. The book was his way of defining the world around him. The book contained poetry from nearly 20 years of writings. After the book was published Tim grew more comfortable with his writing and began to expand to writing fiction composing music and sound effects to his poetry. In collaboration with Wilderside Studio's in Nashville, TN, Tim released his first album of poetry with these effects and music. It became an instant hit. The Album was released in November of 2009 and at that time Tim was well on his way to completing his next book as he toured all over the United States performing his poetry in cities such as Chicago, Memphis, Nashville, New York City, Baltimore, Boston and many more. In 2010 Tim began writing his first novella Love Notes which was part of a larger project Apollo's Flame which featured poetry, short stories, and that novella. Tim performed one of his signature pieces In The City by The Mighty River while in Memphis. While there he wrote one of his most loved stories Old Man and the Moon. A story of an man who is dying and passes his great wisdom on to others. The story was published in August 2010 and was Tim's first fictional piece published. It was also part of Apollo's Flame which was published in November 2010. Love Notes was published first as just the novella in ebook form shortly afterward. Bookstores requested Tim publish a book with Love Notes and the short stories that were in Apollo's Flame on its own without the poetry so came the first edition of Love Notes. As the new year of 2011 came so came a flurry of new stories. Tim began working a new short story for Poe Fest which was a celebration of Edgar Allan Poe's birthday. The story mirrored the writing of Poe with circumstances of his death wrapped up into a modern day eerie tale of aliens and dementia from being poisoned. Several other stories followed which would become part of the next version of Love Notes published in April of 2011. It had the same stories as the first version with several more stories. The 2nd version has several stories not available in Apollo's Flame. Shortly after the new Love Notes was released Tim completed his latest novella From My Hear to Yours, an enduring love story of adventure and strength through trying times. Their love and great virtue inspires many around them to do good works. This book also features five short stories in addition, three of which were released at the same time as $.99 ebooks. A soldier's story, Tears of a Green Eyed Angel, and Visitor's from Yubarri. As his new books were released Tim is already working on his next novella Pieces of the Puzzle. In addition to a writer Tim is also a musician, song writer, and composer. He performs and composes music in several genre including, rock, country, jazz, blues, and classical. He is currently working on several songs and classical pieces set for release in the coming future. Tim has great passion in writing and while he has received many awards and is nominated for more Tim states, "I don't write for awards nor for glory. I don't write to be a member of a group but rather to touch the human soul. To entertain, to inspire. When you touch someones day, when they grow from your words then this is a far greater award. I believe that art is as necessary as a breath of air for our lives, our souls, and physical well being." Tim's voice for humanity shines brightly through his stories. He is an extremely eclectic writer who has pieces in several genre such as romance, drama, sci-fi, and horror. Tim enjoys hiking and photography and often writes in places on the trail that inspire him. |

| Author bio: I designed the NASA's logo that was done with bent one line for each letter of "N", "A", "S", "A" that had been retired thankfully. I didn't receive any compensation for it. I just gave it away. I was hoping I would garner some name recognition but it didn't quite turn out that way. I was in a very delicate situation back in 1979 and early 1980s. I also designed the logo for intel. One with letter "e" dropping about half way. I was hoping to get paid but at the last minute this woman who set up the meeting for both of us, I and the man from intel, intervened and mangled the deal. I had gotten nothing out of that to my dismay. |

Innervisions | by Calvin Daniel Jan. 25, 2010 | $3.00 | 12752 words | Sample 25% |
| Author bio: Autobiography Calvin Daniel’s life may be similar to the lives of many of his compatriots with one exception: His negative experiences have driven him to improve himself and to think that equality and love among men are the solution to man’s existential conflict. Son of a coal miner and housewife, he was born in Johns, Alabama. Experiencing his parents struggle to support seven children, he promised himself that he would find a way to have a proper education. In an environment in which he could not even dream of a university education; only a young man like him, with his determination could do it. His mother’s influence, a woman of great sensibility, hard tempered, but with much tenderness, was his most ardent supporter, and provided the most constant assistance to overcome all the obstacles that stood in his way. From his father, he obtained the belief that all men are created equal. He inculcates great goodness and love to others. Calvin was born a poet. At age 12, while looking at wild robins from the region he wrote his first poem, which he still remembers to this day. His love for music, for which he feels true passion, was inherited from his mother who used to take him, every Sunday, to sing at the Bethlehem Baptist church choir in his hometown. In Alabama, he finished high school, when schools were racially segregated and realized that he wasn’t going to be able to attend the university he desired. He entered the Army and accomplished what none of his brothers or sister had done previously. Being twice in the Republic of Viet Nam. This terrible experience confirmed what he always believed in: That war is useless and that the only valid reason for our existence is to work for peace, fraternity, without any prejudice of color, position or nationality. 20 years later, being a master sergeant in the Army, he later retired from service and went to pursue a Master’s Degree in Public Administration from Golden Gate University (seven years of night school). He has retired from civil service after twenty-three years, serving in the office of Army G-3 as Project Manager for the Training Ammunition Management Information System -Redesigned (TAMIS-R). Calvin is also a showman. In 1964 he sang for the first time in night clubs in Germany. While in the Army he performed in Hawaii, and many different states where he was stationed. For years he has performed annual shows at Fort Myer, Virginia, where he sings with his old friend and fellow vocalists, Felton Cameron and Gene Collier. HE is married to Valerie M. Beliveau and lives in Woodbridge, Virginia. HE has six children and nine grandchildren living in Texas, Florida and Georgia. |

Dean's first venture into serious writing, and he hopes that you will join him on the twists and turns of this ride that is part excitement, part drama, part terror, and all adventure. |

Cupidz Four Five {.45} | by Antwan Crisp Feb. 03, 2010 | Free! | 3136 words | Read a sample |
| Author bio: 27 year old African American male who writes about it all. I love love, I hate love and I hope you enjoy my spirals in and out of love and life in general through my words. I love music. I have an addiction to poetry and lyrics. So if you see a quote in my work and think, "that sounds familiar..." it might be. It might be from one of your favorite songs. I think my writing is more lyrical like from a song, rather than a mirror image of say something, Shakespherean. I've been branching out more into short stories lately. And it's kind of fun how the words just flow. |
