YOU MIGHT LIKE SOME OF THESE POEMS

by MARY ELIZABETH RAINES

The following twenty-eight poems were all written between 1963 and 1974. Some of them concern my life and the little one-bedroom apartment I had in Boston in the early 70s. Others are poems on topics you would expect from a young woman: love, lust, yearning, and youthful wretchedness. At the end are two poems I wrote when I was still in high school; they are good for me to re-read now and then, because I sometimes forget how passionate I was, even then, about poetry and words. I hope that you will like some of these poems.
