Dedicating this one to a T

Infidelity Ruins Lives

You know that I want you we’re both grown, we know the game

But some how things seem out of wack like six seconds of fame

I love it when you say my name

Though I know you’re not always calling me when you say it

See my name is very popular I’m thinking hard about changing it

But how could I do that when you call it with such acquaintance

I’m intrigued by your smile, your rugged style & your familiar fragrance

We’ve passed the butterfly stages, but yet we shall not go any further

Time is on our hands but they say they don’t want him to hurt her

Well, she is me and I say my feelings will be the last to be a burden

I knew the situation upon entry and I just want to quench this yearning

And in the end I promise to leave without posing the questions-

Of ”what if’s” or “maybe’s” I guarantee no second guessing’s

And like Ms. Keys I’d be pleased to keep your secrets

I’d only brag to my girls about how deep within your love went

I want to be your student so that I could be my teacher’s pet

Once you Oh! Get me wet, I’ll pass every single test

Like a game of chess, kiss my chest, grade those pop quizzes!

I’ll be that mistress lip sticking you with sweet Hershey kisses

Leaving dirty linen moist from the choices we’ve made

Like the last time you gave me a piece the taste lasted for days

Had me crazed like that pregnant lady trying to curb the craves

So many times you’ve caved in my walls with your boulder

So sure to devour the flower & savor the flavor, you put my legs on your shoulders

We roll over making even the unshakable Satan lose his composure

Taking my picture as I pose for the wall poster

Coasting, completely destroying my good posture

Until I’m left crippled like that old lady who never learnt to sit up straight

Wait! So now I’m stuck in this position? Like a crack feigns addiction, we get closer

And as you partake in the sweet, sweet taste of my forbidden fruit- my honey dew

Mingles with your cantaloupe but see we can’t elope because of you!

Fine as you are, not mine and every time I try to step out of line

You remind me of those words spoken before we committed this crime saying

“Yo, you’re just that hoe I mess with on the side” &

“I’ve got wifey at home you knew that before you dived in”

But see there was a time when I thought I could swim

But just like those kids who die every year

Because the life guard on duty doesn’t really care

I’m drowning… Hhhuuhh! Gasping for air!

On my quest for something less I ended up with much more than I could handle

And now the mother of your children is casting ultimatums and asking questions about her

And the ones who used to warn her now force her to stay away

But she needs someone to talk to because even when she tries to pray

It seems even God has turned His back on her, she’s withering away

Lost in her pain reminiscing on the days when he used to blow her back out

From knocking it out all day

Well, night has fallen like the last time when inside of her

He rose and fell.

Now sitting alone on a dark and cold basement floor she tries (but fails) to kill herself

Yes, she is me but then again both she and I need help

But he is gone, no longer comes, he’d rather please himself

See in this “Buy one get one free!” deal she ended up losing out

He wasn’t quite pleased with the one he bought but the free one was sold out

So in the end he chose his family over his sweetest fantasies and wildest dreams

And since she is me well I guess I’m left slashing tires and climbing trees

Now I’ve gone out on a limb on this one but still you get the point

Because if you were contemplating cheating my advice to you would be don’t do it

See the morale of the story is…

That there is really no turning back when you knowingly drive down a one way street

And in this case the point of no returns a tragedy

And in this sweet, sweet tale of love and lies

Before you go and lose control know that infidelity ruins lives
