HEARTBEATS
THROUGH TIME
* * * * *
This book is dedicated first and foremost to the dear Lord who gave me the ability to put my thoughts into words. To my parents who have given me so much in this life. To Joeanna who never ceases to bring a smile to my face. To my children Andrew and Christine who have made me so proud with all their accomplishments. And to my family and friends who have helped me make it through the good and rough times in my life.

Gently Blown Upon The Wind
The cherry tree blossoms in the park.
Gently blown upon the wind.
The scent they bring is powerful.
Reminders of her.
Images flow through my mind.
Subtle reminders of the times we’ve shared.
Walks through the park, hand in hand.
Settled on the grass, listening to a band.
Quiet nights, gazing at the stars.
These are the times that are ours.
Gently blown upon the winds of time,
our lives forever flow together.

She's such a ray of sunshine.
A wonderful friend to me.
Hundreds of miles away from here,
yet close to me she seems.
Like sunrise reflecting on a calm lake,
a beautiful soul is she.
She's funny, witty, serious too,
she'll often tell a joke or two.
I hope you have such great friends too.
Lifes beautiful rays of sunshine.

I give my heart to you.
Do with it what you will.
I give my love to you.
It’s what was meant to be.
I give my life to you.
You know my love is true.
I give my soul to you.
For eternity I am yours.
I give.
For it is right.

Wrapped in her warmth,
the glow of a fire.
A cold winter day,
holding the one I desire.
She tugs at my heart strings,
like a fiddler in the night.
Feelings inside me,
I cannot fight.
Gently I hold her,
so tenderly.
This wonderful feeling,
was meant to be.
Wrap me in your love,
it’s all I desire.
Heaven on earth,
in front of the fire.

I love my little pony,
She’s sharp, she’s sleek, she’s lean.
And when I give her racing fuel,
she’s really kind of mean.
I bathe her and I shine her.
She’s quite the mare to see.
Sometimes I really let her run,
when it’s safe for her and me.
So if you see that deep red flash,
flying down your road.
Just give a wave, and say “Hi Dave”,
cause I let the beast unload.

Storm clouds boiling in the sky.
Fronts colliding way up high.
Lightning flashes, oh so bright.
Thunder booms throughout the night.
Snuggled together upon the sheets.
Moving close, our bodies meet.
Passions building with the storms.
We share our love until the morn.
Lying there in the morning light.
I see your beauty, what a delight.
Gentle kisses I give to you.
Our love will be forever true.
Forever I will be with you.

A warrior in his youth,
on the football field he played.
To the Marine Corp he did go,
when he ended his school days.
So young in life and true in heart,
a gentle soul was he.
Upon his early passing,
it took a part of me.
He gave his life for his country,
in a land so far away.
I think about him often,
and miss him every day.
Rest peaceful noble warrior,
for many lives you’ve saved.
And in the end we’ll meet again,
when I reach my judgment day.

I have my fallen heroes, fortunately they’re few.
They gave their lives while serving for the Red, White and Blue.
One like a brother and one like a son.
Both were strong and noble men, they’re missed by everyone.
They’re joined by many others, who gave their lives for us.
We sha'nt forget their sacrifice, each and every one.
So I'm sending out a "Thank You", to all of those who serve.
They all have made some sacrifice, to help the world improve.

Warm and humid, cool and crisp,
see what the morning brings.
Sitting on the patio,
listening to all the birds sing.
The sun is rising steadily,
the warm rays on my face.
I've made it through another night,
it's time to enjoy the new day.
So pack up the troubles, put away the woes,
bask in the sunshine from head to toes.
Don't dwell on the negatives,
the future's so bright.
The new day has cometh, let's all enjoy it,
embrace the beautiful light.
